El 2016 podría ser recordado como el año en el que fallaron dos clásicas instituciones que las sociedades modernas han creado para tratar de entender y leer los procesos políticos: los medios de comunicación y las encuestas de opinión pública. Fallaron en su capaci- dad de sondear importantes dinámicas sociopolíticas y, sobre todo, en su capacidad predictiva respecto de acontecimientos de alto impacto.
